Harsh Environment- Features



Information applies to gripper models AL-2000, AL-2100 and AL-2200, also known as Harsh Environment Grippers. This product cannot be sold outside of the United States.


Purge System
RAD’s Harsh Environment Pneumatic Parallel Gripper features a patented purge system that, in a harsh environment, is pressurized to clear away any debris that attempts to make its way under the slide bearings.

Double Seals
RAD’s Harsh Environment Parallel Gripper is double sealed to protect the gripper from environmental contamination that could lead to failure (e.g. welding debris, grinding/carbide dust, etc.)

Lifetime Lubrication
RAD’s Harsh Environment Pneumatic Gripper is made with a lifetime lubricant that enables the use of “dry air” and complies with OSHA regulations that forbid the use of lubricants in pneumatic air lines. With an FDA rating of H1, this lifetime lubricant is also people and food “friendly”.

Durability
RAD’s Harsh Environment Parallel Gripper is intended for use in very dirty or severe environments. The materials used are corrosion-resistant as well as tough. The Harsh Environment Parallel Gripper has a typical life of 10 million+ cycles and may deliver 20 million+ cycles in non-abusive applications. The gripper’s design and the materials used in its construction enable RAD’s Harsh Environment Parallel Grippers to provide force to weight ratios of 200+.



No Maintenance Required
RAD’s Harsh Environment Pneumatic Gripper is designed to be maintenance free.

Field Repairability
Should a repair be necessary, most components of RAD’s Harsh Environment Parallel Gripper can be replaced or repaired in the field to minimize downtime.

NOTE: Pneumatic grippers are used on robots, robotic arms, linear actuators, pick & place machines, and other automated equipment.
