Durability
RAD’s 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Parallel Gripper was designed with durability and reliability in mind. Hardened tool steel wear surfaces allow the Square Jaw Brute™ to operate for millions of cycles in dirty environments where other type wear surfaces fail. The gripper is designed for use in temperatures from
-25ºF to 250ºF (-32ºC to 121ºC).
Variable Position Sensing
RAD’s 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper features a magnetic piston designed to actuate sensors positioned in the six standard dovetail slots and/or the two standard barrel slots (for round profile sensors) in the wall of the gripper cylinder. Sensors (available as an option) enable mid-stroke signaling and exact end-of-stroke sensing. For extremely harsh environments a standard threaded proximity switch can be placed in the body of the gripper.
Grip Force Optimization
The grip force of RAD’s 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper is pneumatically controlled using a regulator and your robot’s logic and valve system.
Minimal Maintenance
RAD’s 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper requires minimal maintenance. The use of modified Buna N O-Rings that are internally lubricated with Magnalube®-G (a grease loaded with microscopic size particles of TFE in suspension) ensure long life so only periodic lubrication of the slide and jaws is required.
Field Repairability
Should a repair be necessary, most components of RAD’s 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper can be replaced or repaired in the field to minimize downtime.
NOTE: Pneumatic grippers are used on robots, robotic arms, linear actuators, pick & place machines, and other automated equipment.
